Music Games DLC Vs Disc-Based Content

The debate over optical-media versus downloadable content continues on, and this time it involves games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. So which one is better suited for music games: accessibility or versatility?
Co-Optimus recently ran an editorial about the great music game content debate. Is it better to have more access to downloadable content for a game or to simply have the content already available on disc, yet with limited viability for selection?
The article poses some extremely good questions in the great debate over DLC vs. disc-based content; it also puts up arguments of favor of why one might be better than the other and vice-versa. I dont know about anyone else but I hate being nickel-and-dimed for downloadable content. However, as the article points out, its also a bust paying 60 for a game when only a couple of the tracks are actually worth owning. Its worse yet when you have to buy a whole new game just to get a fresh set of tunes.
