Today Sega released a demo for Napoleon: Total War. It’s available through Steam and allows you to try out one full mission of the game.
The demo offers up a playable tutorial entitled “War on Land” set during the Siege of Toulon. Once you’ve got the basics down, you can tackle the Battle of Ligny, a mission that depicts a historic skirmish between Prussia and Napoleon’s army. The demo also comes with two videos that showcase the campaign map and multiplayer modes.
The full version of N:TW has been available since February 23rd. System requirements can be found at the Steam product page.

Infinity Ward promised they’d share some details on the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 DLC and today they did just that. They’ve announced when Xbox 360 gamers will get their hands on the first map pack.
A teaser site warns of a mental condition called “Mapathy,” defined as “indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months.” Over 20 million people are said to suffer from Mapathy, a reference to MW2’s hefty playable. However, there is hope: the cure for Mapathy (the map pack) will be released through Xbox Live on March 30th.
“Additionally, Silver Xbox LIVE members who have not yet experienced the exciting adrenaline rush of Modern Warfare 2 will be able to try it with a Multiplayer Unlock event running from March 12 to March 15,” said Activision in a press release issued this morning.
The first two map packs for MW2 are timed exclusives for the Xbox 360 for a month. If so, PS3 and PC owners should expect the first map pack at the end of April or in early May.

Cloud computing service OnLive was announced at last year’s GDC and has been a source of intense debate ever since. This summer, consumers will finally be able to find out whether it lives up to the hype.
OnLive stores and renders games on a remote server, allowing you to play the latest games even on a low-end computer with an Internet connection. The service will launch on June 17th in the continental US. It will initially be available through a browser plug-in downloadable to PCs and Macs. A release date for a MicroConsole TV adapter will be announced later in the year.
The basic subscription price will be 14.95/month. Multi-month subscription deals and other promotions will be announced at this year’s E3, which runs from June 15th to 17th. They did divulge one special offer today, though: the first 25,000 people to register on the OnLive Game Service will get 3 free months of service.
The subscription fee covers “instant-play free game demos; multiplayer across PC, Mac and TV platforms; massive spectating; viewing of Brag Clips video capture and posting; and cloud-saving of games youve purchasedpause, and instantly resume from anywhere, even on a different platform.” You also get access to OnLive’s video-based social network. Separate fees must be paid to rent or buy games, though. Game pricing will be announced closer to E3.

EA confirmed today that they are creating a sequel to Wii fitness game EA Sports Active. However, it’ll appear on multiplatforms.
EA Sports Active 2.0 (working title) will be released this fall for the PS3, Wii, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Like the first game, Active 2.0 will feature leg straps with motion sensors. However, it also adds arm straps and a heart rate monitor into the mix as well. A new online hub will allow you to view and share your training data.
The sequel brings new workout programs as well. Add-on programs will be available (presumably as DLC) to allow you to inject a little variety into your workouts.
