Kojima Discusses Metal Gear Solid Peace Walkers New Features

Today Konami released the transcript of a new Q&A with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima. The topic of discussion was the upcoming PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Kojima hinted that the game would employ unique customization and upgrade systems.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kojima mentions the game will feature “a variety” of cardboard boxes, to ensure that you complete your sneaking mission in style. The full transcript of the Q&A is here if you’re interested. Peace Walker is set for a 2010 release.

Metal Gear Solid Dated Priced For PSN

The ESRB rated Metal Gear Solid yesterday for the PSP and PS3, thus spoiling Konami’s surprise. However, Konami’s announcement today contains two facts that the ESRB didn’t know: the price and release date.
MGS will arrive in the PlayStation Store on June 18th. It will cost you ten bucks to relive the days of Psycho Mantis and Sniper Wolf. Only a North American release date was announced so Europeans shouldn’t start celebrating just yet.
How’s this for creepy: the game will turn 11 years old in the fall. Time flies when you’re watching cut scenes.

E3 2009 Metal Gear Solid Rising Coming To Xbox 360

To top off a pretty impressive E3 conference, Microsoft brought out Hideo Kojima to announce that the Metal Gear Solid series is coming to Xbox 360. It’s not Metal Gear Solid 4, as was rumored, but something else entirely.
Metal Gear Solid Rising is currently in development for the 360. It was announced during the “exclusives” portion of the conference so it seems the 360 is the only platform getting it (could be mistaken on that, though). A brief trailer was shown with some still images. It’s apparently centered on Raiden, the wuss from MGS2 who became a fairly cool cyber ninja in MGS4. Kojima said that he can’t tell us much more right now but promises it will be a “new Metal Gear experience.”
No clue on when the game will be released or what exactly it’s about but shit, MGS on the 360. The series has been pretty huge for PlayStation over the years so this is a real coup on Microsoft’s part.

Rumor Sunny To Star In New Metal Gear Game

Anything Hideo Kojima related is bound to be confusing, a craptacular mind-boggle and a feast for chaos. However, that doesnt mean like every other website, Joe-blow blog and gaming news outlet out there covering the news (or making it up) were just going to sit on the sidelines and pout. With that said, we’ve been follwing the updates regarding the next MG and recent findings seem to suggest that the new Metal Gear game could, in fact, star Sunny from MGS: 4.
Stick Skills ran some interesting information following the recent Konami Countdown Update. And yes, the next big project by Konami is a Metal Gear game.
The info uncovered on Stick Skills further points that the lead character could be Sunny and not the games decaying cyber-ninja, Raiden. However, the info on the site also alludes to the possibility of the leads being Gray Fox as well. Highly unlikely, I know.
Nevertheless, well keep you posted on any recent findings regarding Konamis next Metal Gear game. So be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.

Next Metal Gear Revealed By Kojima Productions Teaser Website Countdown

A second, longer countdown on the Kojima Production website has winded down to zero and the result is a lot juicier than last time. Yes, there’s another countdown up now but there’s a big fat hint about what the project’s going to be.
The teaser site’s got that same grassy field in a rain storm picture. However, every minute or so, there’s a flash of lightning and the face of Big Boss – protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater appears. He’s sporting a neat little beret that reads “Militaires Sans Frontieres,” which means “soldiers without borders” in English.
The next countdown ends in five days. This time around, they’ve actually given us a reason to be excited.

Kojima Teaser Site Countdown Ends Badly

The countdown on Kojima Productions’ teaser website is over and they’ve unveiled their new game. Just kidding – they put up another countdown that’s even longer.
We’re still looking at the picture of that stupid field but now it’s raining and there’s more letters flashing. It looks like “5@E3″, which suggests that we’ll see something on this mystery project at E3. The new countdown runs out next week, at which point it’ll probably be replaced with a picture of Hideo Kojima smoking a cigar and laughing.
You know, fellas, most companies send out press releases when they’re making a new game. Just sayin’.

New Kojima Game Will Hopefully Be Revealed On Thursday

Kojima Production’s teaser website received an update at some point this weekend. The stupid picture of the grassy field is still up but now there’s a countdown clock too.
According to Blend Games’ team of crack mathematicians, the website’s clock will expire on Thursday. When the timer runs out, maybe they’ll actually reveal what this game is. Or maybe the countdown will be replaced with some other teaser, so as to string us along until an E3 announcement. Good times.
The clouds in the picture have turned darker since last week and when lightning strikes, a symbol – either a “5″ or an “S” – flashes on screen. As previously mentioned, the source code mentions “Metal Gear” and “MGS” so the Internet will be abuzz with Metal Gear Solid 5 rumors over the next couple days. A pretentious teaser website does seem like an appropriate prelude to a new Metal Gear Solid game.

Kojima Productions Teaser Website Kinda Hints At New Metal Gear

Metal Gear Solid studio Kojima Productions has a teaser website up for their mystery project and while it doesn’t reveal much concrete information, there’s enough for some crazy-go-nuts speculation.
The website is just a picture of a countryside with animated clouds rolling by. Joystiq notes that the page’s source code contains the keywords “MGS” and “Metal Gear.” The title of the page, by the way, is “Next” so…is this new project going to be the next Metal Gear?
Yeah, it’s a flimsy theory. The rumor is that the game will be revealed on Friday. Or maybe this was the planned reveal and it’s just a day early? At any rate, I doubt we’ll get through E3 without finding out what the hell this is all about.

Rumor New Kojima Game Reveal On Friday

Last we heard, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima’s next game would be revealed at E3. There’s a chance, however, that we may not have to wait that long.
This morning, 1UP was sent a mysterious email from a source within Konami with the subject line “T -3 days.” The email contained this URL, which is currently a broken link. On Friday, the new Kojima Productions game will perhaps be revealed here.
Or maybe someone at Konami’s just fucking with video game journalists. We are, after all, an excitable lot. Expect another flare up of the “MGS4 coming to 360?” rumor over the next couple days. It’s an oldie but a goodie.
